What is a S.T.A.R.?
A
STAR is a special notebook that you will carry to and from school
everyday this year.
STAR
is an acronym for Students That
Are Responsible.
The
STAR will help you stay organized and keep your parents in touch
with our classroom.

First Folder
Take Home Folder
Notes from School or PTA |
In
the first folder you will find class work that
your child has completed. This pocket should be
cleaned out each evening. After you have “oohed
and aahhed” over your child’s work, I’m sure that you
will want to hang it on the refrigerator! ENJOY!! :o)
In
the second pocket you will find homework papers. These papers
need to be completed each night and returned to
school in the same pocket the following
day. Make sure
that you remember to sign your child's assignment notebook
each evening after homework has been completed! I know
this is a lot of work for busy parents, but it really
helps your child to become responsible, which is a
big goal for us in third grade! Thank
you!
Your
child’s graded work will come home in this folder
as well. You will be able to know whether or not an assignment
was entered into the grade book by looking at the
top corner. Anything that is graded will have
corner cut off. This work should be taken out, reviewed
with your child, and signed. Please
return any graded work so that it can be placed in
your child's portfolio.
Please remember to sign
your child's assignment notebook each and every
night!
It is the only way to assure that we
are staying in communication with each other throughout
the year. |
