Our class is participating in a project to find out how many Oreo® cookies can be stacked before falling over! Classrooms all over the world are participating!

Then, we predicted how many cookies we could stack before they fell over. Our predictions ranged from 15 cookies to 36 cookies!

The Awesome Oreo Stackers – 23 cookies

The Oreo Crew – 36 cookies

Stacking Stars – 15 cookies

Oreo Stackers – 20 cookies

After we made our predictions, it was time to collect our data. We used one bag of regular Oreo® cookies. Each group had a chance to try out their stacking talents! We had a couple of rules to follow:

1. Once a cookie is set down, it may not be readjusted.

2. Nothing can be used to stabilize the cookie tower.

Our data was very interesting! The average number of cookies stacked was 21!

After we finished our experiment, we got to eat our materials! Yum!

Mrs. Van Dyke sent our data to the woman who runs this project. Our data will be combined with the other participants' data. On October 11, everyone's final results will be posted online!

We predict that Preschool and Kindergarten classes will have shorter stacks than us, since we have better hand-eye coordination! We predict that Sixth grade classes will have taller stacks, since they are older and have better hand-eye coordination!
