This is the first bulletin board that I display each school year. During the first week of school, I take a picture of each of the "movie stars" and then the kids make a TV frame to put around their picture. This bulletin board goes along with our classroom theme, which is Hollywood. :o) The kids have such a great time hamming it up for the camera!

SPOOKY STORIES!

Around Halloween, I had my students write scary stories as a creative writing assignment. I took a "spooky" picture of the kids making their scariest faces and printed these pictures in black and white for that extra scary touch. The pictures were mounted on black construction paper and the stories were made into a door-shaped book. I lined all of the doors up to look like a Haunted Hallway! Ooooohhhhh! Beware of the spooky creatures in Room 28! :o)

WHAT WOULD YOU BUY WITH $100?

I got this idea from the wonderful Beth Newingham's website. The kids each got $100 in "funny money" to spend at www.toysrus.com. What a fun way to practice math and internet skills!

WHAT WILL WE LOOK LIKE WHEN WE ARE 100 YEARS OLD?

On the 100th day of school, the students had the chance to come to school dressed up...as a 100 year old! I had all sorts of creative senior citizens step into my classroom that day. Some were wearing spectacles, had a cane, and even sprayed their hair to make it look gray! :o)
