The students in my classroom have the option to check out Book Bags each week. The purpose of these bags is to encourage a love for reading at school, as well as at home. These canvas bags are filled with books, activities, extra materials, as well as an Activity Notebook. Book Bags are not homework, but simply a way to help my students enjoy reading, want to read, and therefore become better readers. I purchased the canvas bags through Oriental Trading Company and decorated them with fabric markers. Thank you to those students and parents who volunteered to decorate a bag or two! :o) Most of the extra items and materials were either bought at the dollar store, garage sales, or found online.
